By Gully!

You expect to see Sea Gulls at the beach, near the water’s edge, looking for food, or approaching beach go-ers looking for food, or flying overhead, looking for food. These common birds can often be overlooked, but what does it mean when one shows up in your life, out of the blue (sky)?

Perhaps you are drawn to a book about Sea Gulls – if you haven’t checked out one of my favorite short books, “Jonathan Livingstone Seagull” please do! Maybe Sea Gull images are showing up around you, or maybe like me, you had an unexpected visit by a Sea Gull when you were 10 hours from the nearest beach! However this bird has shown up for you, there’s definitely a reason.

If you’ve ever observed Sea Gulls at the beach, you’ll instantly notice that these brave birds will push limits and will even snatch food from right beside you when you aren’t looking. Sea Gulls constantly move from the land, to the water, and then fly up into the air. They are highly adaptable, observant, can see opportunities, communicate loudly, and are stimulated to eat by the color red.

Has a Sea Gull showed up in your life? If so, pay attention to your environment and ask yourself:

1. Am I clearly seeing things as they are?

2. Am I missing opportunities around me?

3. Am I being adaptable enough?

4. Am I communicating my needs effectively?

A Sea Gull totem can also be used when you need courage, when you need to reinforce boundaries, when you are changing your eating patterns, and when you need assistance adjusting to changes in your environment.
